About Continuous Maintenance

Under continuous maintenance procedures, anyone may propose changes at any time. Each change will be considered by the appropriate Standing Standard Core Committee (SCC) or Standard Technical Committee (STC), according to a definite schedule.

All proposals are logged in the online comment database. Submitters receive acknowledgement and are notified of the outcome once the relevant committee completes its review cycle.

Each Standard Technical Committee (STC) follows a balanced stakeholder model, ensuring representation across the entire HVAC&R ecosystem — from manufacturers and academia to regulators and international bodies.

Member Category Definitions

Definitions for each member category within the Standard Technical Committee, aligned with ISHRAE's stakeholder representation policy.

Manufacturer Industry / Production sector
A representative of a company that is engaged in:
  • The manufacturing of products covered by the standard
  • Installation and/or servicing of the products or systems
  • Manufacturing through OEM, ODM or Subcontract manufacturing but which retains control of the overall process like design, R&D, quality control etc.

★ A consultant representing a manufacturer shall be considered as 'Manufacturer'.

User End-use organizations
Organization that uses end product, system or services in a commercial / industrial / large usage — like:
  • Restaurants & commercial complexes
  • Hospitals
  • Industrial applications
Academia Educational institutions
A representative of an educational institution with involvement in relevant research in the area of the standard under development — in the area of:
  • Product, system, component development
  • Technology development
Testing & Standards Organization Certification & conformity bodies
Organizations that test and / or certify products, services or systems covered by the standard, or that develop standards / codes related to the product or service or system covered by the standard.
Consumer Individual & professional consumers
Consumer organization, consumer department, professional consumers, or individuals who use the products or services or systems as part of their livelihood.
Regulator Enforcement authorities
Those involved in the regulation or enforcement of the requirements of codes and standards.
International Delegates Global standards experts
Individual representing a standards body, or a Subject Matter Expert from a nation other than India.
